OFFICER

Your area of responsibility

  • As an officer on a sailing ship, you are responsible for the safe navigation of the ship, coordination of the crew and compliance with maritime rules. You will monitor the operation of the sail, carry out maintenance work and be responsible for the safety of passengers and crew in emergencies. Your job is to ensure that the sailing trip runs smoothly and to ensure that the ship reaches its destination safely and efficiently. As an officer on a sailing ship, you have a great responsibility and play a crucial role in the success of seafaring.

What you should bring: ​

  • Basic Safety Training according to STCW 78 as amended including Security Related Training
  • appropriate qualification

  • Communication skills for coordination of maneuvers and safety precautions

  • Problem-solving skills for unforeseen situations at sea

  • Team orientation and the ability to work under pressure

  • Basic medical knowledge for emergency situations

  • Willingness to take responsibility and ensure the safety of the crew

DECK HAND

Your area of responsibility

  • As deckhand on a sailing ship, you are responsible for the general maintenance and care of the deck. Your tasks include setting and retrieving sails, monitoring and maintaining the rigging and ensuring ship safety. You will assist with berthing and casting off, carry out regular inspections of the equipment and assist with various manual work on board. The focus is on teamwork to ensure that everything runs smoothly during the journey.

What you should bring: ​

  • Basic Safety Training according to STCW 78 as amended including Security Related Training

  • Willingness to carry out physically demanding work

  • Basic knowledge of seamanship and sailing

  • Ability to carry out orders from the officer or captain

  • Team orientation and good communication skills

  • Basic maintenance and repair knowledge for the ship

  • Knowledge of safety procedures and first aid measures

  • Willingness to take on other duties on board as required

  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to different working conditions

SERVICE

Your area of responsibility

  • As a service person on a sailing ship, your main responsibility is to look after the passengers. You look after their well-being and ensure a pleasant stay on board. Your responsibilities will include serving during meals, providing drinks, maintaining the food service area and ensuring friendly service. You will also help organize events on board and be available to guests if they have any questions or concerns to ensure first-class customer service.

What you should bring: ​

  • Experience in the catering or service sector

  • Knowledge of the drinks and food options on board

  • Friendly and courteous demeanor towards passengers

  • Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in stressful situations

  • Organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time

  • Hygiene awareness and knowledge of food regulations

  • Ability to work in a team and good communication skills with colleagues and passengers

  • Willingness to work outside of regular working hours
